Al grew up in the Strawberry Section of North Philadelphia and has been around the Fletcher Street Stables since early childhood. He was a longtime coach of the Strawberry Mansion Equestrian Center, where he taught neighborhood children about horses, horsemanship, riding and giving kids the opportunity to compete in equestrian events.
